The Vocational Promotion and Guidance Branch, operating under the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, held an online event called “Our Folk Poets, Aşık Veysel” for primary school students on Friday, February 3rd.
After the reading about Aşık Veysel, read by primary school student Nil, the text was discussed. In addition to the conversations about the cultural structures of nations, the tradition of Aşıklık, and our folk poets, importance was given to transferring information in various fields. We went on a journey in the region where Aşık Veysel was born. After taking a look at the timeline to understand the historical periods and briefly mentioning some of our other folk poets, our presentation was completed with a concert from Aşık Veysel.
