The “Special Education Department” was introduced to high school students at an event
organized by the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, Vocational
Promotion and Guidance Branch on Friday, November 15, 2024. Specialist, special educator
Burak Adil, who participated as a speaker, gave information to the students about the
department. Our speaker focused on the purpose of special education, the characteristics
required to study in this department, the degree of difficulty and the steps to be taken. He also
emphasized that special education requires patience and dedication, and the importance of not
being affected by working with children with special needs, approaching with high morale,
and being open to professional development.
Finally, he talked about employment opportunities in special education and ended the
interview with answers to students’ questions.
