WESTERN THRACE TURKISH DELEGATION ATTENDED OSCE MEETING

The Western Thrace Turkish delegation, consisting of the European Western Thrace Turkish Federation (ABTTF) and the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association (WTMUGA), attended the Additional Human Dimension Meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) held in Vienna between 13-14 March. International Relations Director Melek Kirmacı Arik and WTMUGA Human Rights Specialist Kerem Abdurahimoglu represented Western Thrace Turkish society at the first OSCE meeting of the year titled “Media Freedom as the Main Basis for Comprehensive Security”.At the meeting on media freedom, ABTTF and WTMUGA noted that political expression and
actions also shaped the media, and pointed out that the news and hate speech targeting Western Thrace Turks has increased in the media, and that some websites have always made them open targets by publishing the names and photos of people representing thesociety.
